This project is inspired by "Two Eyed Seeing" a phrase developed by Mi'kmaq Elder Albert Marshall that denotes two frames of reference; the Aboriginal way of viewing our world and the western way.

It refers to learning to see from our one eye with the strengths of Indigenous knowledges and ways of knowing, and from our other eye with the strengths of Western knowledges and ways of knowing.

"Using both these eyes together, for the benefit of all is an important guiding principle for our journey together while here on Mother Earth," says Elder Albert Marshall.
