Many people associate the far North with the Inuit, but areas such as the mid-to-southern Yukon are home to many First Nations communities with their own unique sky knowledge.

For example, among the Southern Tutchone who live in and near what is now Whitehorse and east of the St. Elias mountains near what is now Haines Junction, the Milky Way marks the path of the loon who had cured a blind hunter.
